GRASP Scholarship Helps Adisa Continue studies at Africa University

“This scholarship eases my family’s financial load and allows me to focus entirely on my education. It’s not just monetary support; it’s a vote of confidence in my potential and skills.”
— Anne Adisa, Africa University
A scholarship from the General Board of Higher Education and Ministry’s (GBHEM) International Grants and Scholarship Program (GRASP), is helping Anne Adisa continue her studies at Africa University without the financial burden that often comes with higher education.
“This scholarship eases my family’s financial load and allows me to focus entirely on my education,” Adisa said. “It’s not just monetary support; it’s a vote of confidence in my potential and skills.”
Adisa is pursuing a degree in medical laboratory science. She also emphasized the broader impact of her education, noting that it fosters critical thinking, problem-solving, and leadership abilities, all of which are vital in today’s complex world.
Africa University has played a pivotal role in her personal and academic development. In addition to her studies, Adisa serves as the general secretary for the Volunteers in Mission (VIM) club, an organization that aids local communities through charitable initiatives. She also holds the position of general secretary for the East African Community student group, where she oversees record-keeping and coordinates activities for students from East African nations.
“Being involved in these leadership roles has provided me with invaluable experiences and opportunities for personal growth,” Adisa said. “It allows me to contribute to society while enhancing my own development.”
For Adisa, the scholarship represents more than just financial assistance; it opens doors to future opportunities and strengthens her resolve to make a positive impact in the world. With the support of the United Methodist Church, she is poised to continue her education and work toward becoming a leader in her field.
