Clark Atlanta University
Clark Atlanta University is a comprehensive, private, urban, coeducational institution of higher education with a predominantly African-American heritage. It offers undergraduate, graduate and professional degrees, as well as certificate programs to students of diverse racial, ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds. It was formed in 1988 by the consolidation of Atlanta University, which offered only graduate degrees, and Clark College, a four-year undergraduate institution oriented to the liberal arts.
Clark Atlanta University has a rich heritage of promoting spirituality and instilling in its students’ ethical integrity. As an intuition of higher learning related to the United Methodist Church, we value religion and spirituality.
The Office of Religious Life is charged with overseeing the university’s efforts to promote spiritual awareness. Its mission includes not only the student body, but also the faculty, staff and the entire university community for the enrichment of the whole person.
