GRASP Scholarship Allows Allbe to Access Needed Academic Resources

The International Grants and Scholarship Program scholarship from the General Board of Higher Education and Ministry helps support Juvenale Constantin Allebe in his pastoral studies and leadership activities at Africa University, allowing him to focus on his academic and spiritual growth.
“This scholarship is invaluable to me,” Allebe said. “It will help me acquire the resources I need for my studies, including books that aren’t available in the university library, as well as essential materials like soap, toothpaste, and documents for my courses. It will also allow me to repair my computer so I can better follow my classes.”
Allebe, who is studying to become a pastor, emphasizes the importance of formal training in ministry. “I came to Africa University for my pastoral studies because I believe structured learning is essential for effective ministry,” said. “Many pastoral abuses stem from a lack of proper training. I need to be well-prepared for the work I am called to do.”
In addition to his studies, Allebe is involved in leadership roles beyond campus. Since 2019, he has been organizing entrepreneurship conferences for students across the country, followed by sports activities, aimed at helping youth start income-generating projects. As president of the Christian Association of Protestant Students of Côte d’Ivoire (ACEEPCI), he also oversees spiritual guidance and organizes outreach initiatives, including raising awareness in schools.
“Your financial assistance allows me to continue my mission as a spiritual supervisor,” Allebe said. “It helps me visit churches, organize meetings, and prepare important documents for outreach activities. It also supports my work as an advisor for the West African Student Association at Africa University.”
Grateful for the support, Allebe expressed his appreciation for the (GRASP) scholarship. “This scholarship shows the General Board of Higher Education and Ministry’s commitment to students’ academic success,” he said.

The International Grants and Scholarship Program (GRASP) helps offset the costs of education for students studying at a Methodist-related institution within a Central Conference.
