Scholarships for studying at U.S. institutions

GBHEM Scholarships offers financial aid to United Methodist students pursuing undergraduate and graduate degrees in the United States. With this financial aid, GBHEM is opening pathways for students of all backgrounds to earn their degrees and serve as the next generation of leaders for the church and the world.

Eligibility requirements

Thank you for your interest in the 2026 GBHEM United Methodist Church Scholarship Program. To be considered, you must:

  • be an incoming college first-year student or a current first-year student, sophomore, junior, senior, or graduate student enrolled in an accredited institution in the United States.
  • be an active member of a United Methodist Church
  • maintain at least a 2.5 grade point average (GPA) on a 4.0 scale.
  • have not exceeded the maximum eligibility of seven (7) award years for GBHEM scholarships; applicants cannot be considered for an eighth (8th) year.

  • The 2026 U.S. application portal is open and closes on March 6.
