Pastors and lay people serve our United Methodist-Related Schools, Colleges, and Universities as spiritual leaders of their academic community. They are valued partners in their communities. They offer pastoral care to students, staff, and faculty. They lead worship. They lead Bible studies. They reach beyond the Christian tradition to help community members of other faith traditions. They lead grounding rituals for students during Matriculation, Baccalaureate, and Commencement. They are strategic leaders on campus, helping with diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts, strategic planning, fighting food insecurity, assisting with student retention, and other campus efforts. Some serve on the president’s cabinet. Some teach in the classroom. They are the connection between the Church and the Academy.
