Awakened Life Curriculum

The Awakened Life is an eight-week small group curriculum designed to equip chaplains, collegiate ministers and spiritual leaders in helping college students navigate emotional disturbance, build resiliency and learn psychosocial skills. It is a resource that helps to foster mental, emotional and spiritual wellbeing using mindfulness techniques.

Research demonstrates that mindfulness practices contribute to improved mood, concentration and relationships; and with its rich contemplative history, our faith tradition has much to add to this conversation.

The Awakened Life teaches age-appropriate mindfulness practices written from a United Methodist lens that students can use to tackle anxiety and learn to navigate the challenges of adulthood with equanimity.

This curriculum was created with the help of a team of United Methodist experts and leaders, and written by Sarah E. Bollinger, Ph.D., LCSW and Angela R. Olsen, M.Div.
