Unable To Pay

The Office of Loans and Scholarships makes every attempt within reason to assist borrowers and cosigners who find themselves in difficult situations. At the same time, our office is dedicated to being good stewards of the loan funds entrusted to us to ensure the sustainability of the loan program for future members of The United Methodist Church.

  • If the borrower is unable to make a monthly payment and the loan amount becomes past due, the cosigner will be contacted to remit payment.
  • A monthly late fee of $15.00 will be charged each month the loan remains past due.
  • If the loan amount becomes 90+ days past due, the account may be placed with a collection agency and/or attorney for collection. All collection fees will be the responsibility of the borrower and cosigner.

IMPORTANT: It is vital that you contact the Office of Loans and Scholarships to discuss your account if you are past due. We make every attempt to assist you if possible. Not doing so and ignoring a delinquent situation will only result in additional costs to you.
