Her appointment will begin immediately, and she will focus on support and development of theological education in Africa. Dr. Maenzanise has worked as the dean of the School of Theology at Africa University for the past ten years (2005 to 2015), and was the university’s first female dean.

“Rev. Dr. Maenzanise brings a trove of experience and gifts to her new role,” said the Rev. Myron Wingfield, associate general secretary, Division of Ordained Ministry. “We at GBHEM are well aware of Dr. Maenzanise’s work in her former role at Africa University, and we are delighted that she is joining our team. She brings a deep and abiding faith, and a love for the whole church.”

In 2013 she was the first African female to be a plenary speaker at the Oxford Institute of Methodist Theological Studies, Christ Church, Oxford University, UK.

From 2002 to 2004, Dr. Maenzanise taught at Lancaster Theological School in Lancaster, Pennsylvania as a Carpenter Visiting Professor for Liturgics before relocating to Zimbabwe in 2004. In Zimbabwe, she took a faculty position as lecturer in the School of Theology at Africa University.
