Latest Book from GBHEM Publishing Offers a Practical Guide to God's Grace

Grace is simple but complex, free but not cheap, and comprehensible but mysterious. In his new book “Simply Grace: Everyday Glimpses of God,” released by the Publishing Office of the General Board of Higher Education and Ministry (GBHEM), the leadership development agency of The United Methodist Church, Bruce L. Blumer delves into the sometimes perplexing power of God’s grace and the role it plays in our everyday lives.

Rich with examples, “Simply Grace” inspires readers to become more aware of God in everything they do. Blumer describes how the gift of God’s grace is available regardless of what we’ve done or who we are. He explains that when we accept that we are loved, that we cannot earn a place with God and that we have already been forgiven, it changes our relationship with God and with each other.

Reviewers note Blumer’s talent for explaining this complex topic and helping readers learn to recognize how God’s grace flows through them.

“Bruce breaks grace down for us, using examples from his own life to paint a picture of how receiving grace and showing grace can look. By the end of ‘Simply Grace,’ you’re able to recognize grace more easily in your own life, letting that free love from God flow from you and into the lives of others,” writes Adam Weber, lead pastor of Embrace Church in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and author of “Talking with God.”

Blumer speaks with the experience of someone who has felt the power of God’s grace throughout both his personal and professional life. He is the former executive director of The United Methodist Church Development Center in Nashville, Tennessee, and co-founder of LaGonave Alive!—a nonprofit organized to serve and bring God’s hope, health and happiness to the people on the island of LaGonave, Haiti.

All profits from this book will benefit scholarships and the construction of an addition to a school in LaGonave.
