Upon recommendation by the search team, the General Board of Higher Education and Ministry announces the appointment of Ebony Lincoln as director in the Office of Communications, previously named the Office of Interpretation. She will begin work, reporting to Kim Cape and Scott Brewer, on March 30, 2015.

“Ebony brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to GBHEM and we are very blessed to have her join us,” Brewer said. “Her career accomplishments demonstrate a real passion both for Christian ministry and for excellence in communications and marketing.”

Lincoln has a proven track record and 15 years of solid experience leading communications, media relations, philanthropy, public relations and social media platforms. She comes to GBHEM from ServiceSource, where she coordinated communication strategies, community partnerships and internal communication for seven global centers. Previously, Lincoln worked for nearly 12 years at State Farm Insurance in numerous public relations roles.

At GBHEM, Lincoln will oversee all boardwide communications, public relations and marketing and develop strategic communications and marketing plans. One of her major responsibilities will be the development of an updated, comprehensive marketing and communications plan.

“We are excited about the professional experience and expertise Ebony brings to us,” said the Rev. Dr. Kim Cape, general secretary of GBHEM.

Lincoln holds a BA in Communications from Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, Ky. She is a member and past board member of the Public Relations Society of America.
