Training Resources

    Introduction

    Introduction

Welcome to the GBHEM Division of Ordained Ministry Training Resource Page. Under each tab you will find PowerPoint presentations, training models and outlines, and accompanying content pieces which have been used at training events with candidacy registrars, candidacy mentors, district committees, and boards of ordained ministry. Many annual conference officials involved in the candidacy process have asked for these materials to be made available and this Web page provides easy access.

The documents and PowerPoint presentations may be used as online presentations or downloaded to your computer for offline use. (To download to your machine for later use, right-click on the file and choose either "Save File As" or "Save Target As".) We will continue to add and update resources.

If you have suggestions for future additional training resources or specific comments on the material as you use it, please send us an e-mail.

    Candidacy Mentor

Use the materials in this section in your training with candidacy mentors.

Candidacy mentors are clergy in full connection, associate members, or full-time local pastors who have completed the Course of Study trained to provide counsel and guidance related to the candidacy process. Candidates will be assigned a candidacy mentor by the district committee on ordained ministry in consultation with the district superintendent. Candidacy mentors will work with the candidate until that candidate begins serving in an appointive ministry as a local pastor or a commissioned minister.
