Profile: Jenifer Anne Schronce

My name is Jenifer Anne Schronce and I am a third year student at Methodist Theological School in Ohio. I am a certified candidate for elders orders in the Western North Carolina Annual Conference. Before coming to seminary, I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a double major in K-12 Theatre Education and Psychology.

On campus, I work in the Office of Student Services doing program planning, orientation, and other student life tasks on campus at MTSO. I also serve as the Director of Youth and Young Adult Ministries at Maple Grove United Methodist Church in Clintonville, Ohio. I work with the Next Generations Leadership Task Force to look specifically at how The United Methodist Church can continue to reach out to those in younger demographics.

Outside of work and classes, I spend my time singing, running, and painting. Technology is also an area of giftedness for me, whether that is with technical theatre, graphic design, creating websites, or any other form of media I can access and learn. I am happiest spending free time with friends and family or doing some traveling.

I chose Methodist Theological School in Ohio for several reasons: its retreat-like campus, smaller size, and amazing faculty. After coming here, I also found an interest in church leadership courses and made that my concentration for my M.Div. I have a passion for helping people to look at the bigger picture and take steps to move toward their goals, especially with multi-generational ministry, shifting worldviews, and adjusting outreach efforts.
