Profile: Zephorah Benson

I am a third year Master of Divinity student at Candler School of Theology in Atlanta, GA. Currently, I’m seeking ordination as a deacon in the Virginia Annual Conference.

My call to social justice ministry includes not only persons who are suffering in silence due to a lack of opportunity and voice, but also to the society’s and the Church’s role in the liberation of these persons through advocacy and policy change. This includes how people of faith are called to live a ministry of peace and reconciliation, by opening themselves to not only see the differences in others, but also our collective humanity, and how we can use politics and policy as positive agents for change within the global and religious community.
