Profile: Michelle Bodle

My name is Michelle Bodle. I currently serve as the secretary of YASN. I am a certified candidate in the Susquehanna Annual Conference (Pennsylvania) and serve as a local pastor at Albright-Bethune United Methodist Church. I am currently on the ordination track to become an elder.

I am my third and final year as an MDiv student at Drew Theological School, where I am an active member of the student government. I run a weekly Taize service at Drew and am designing a new Bible study method called Wisdom Table.

Outside of the realm of schoolwork I love playing music, including piano, flute, oboe, and viola. I find a lot of joy in cooking and in watching the sunrise and set, playing in the rain, taking photographs, and reading.

After graduating from Houghton College in 2007, I began to look into several seminaries. I ultimately chose Drew for its focus on social justice and environmental action. However, once I got here I discovered deep, beautiful passion inside of me for the Hebrew Scriptures, liturgy, community organizing, and ableism issues in church and inter-faith dialogue. I have faith that God will use my passions and gifts in ministry in the local church.
