Generose Minani, a refugee from Burundi, became a part of history May 29, 2004, when Africa University awarded her one of the continent’s first post-graduate diplomas in peace and governance.

Generose is part of the first graduating class of Africa University’s pan-African Institute of Peace, Leadership, and Governance. She is among 14 young women and men from four African countries — Burundi, Kenya, Mozambique, and Zimbabwe — who received post-graduate diplomas and master’s degrees in peace and governance.
