Chaplain Matt Woodbery, stationed in Iraq, became concerned about the need for military personnel stationed far from home to stay in contact with their families and friends. However, the cost of international phone calls can be prohibitive.

Chaplain Woodbery suggested that The United Methodist Church provide phone cards to United Methodist chaplains for them to give to service members who need them. Conferences, churches, and members of the denomination have responded enthusiastically.

This ministry has provided much-needed help to our service members and visibly demonstrates the love of the church for all persons.
