Goal I

Reach young people to assist and support them in identifying and forming their vocations as Christians for leadership in the global church and the world.

Objective 1:

By 2012, using current and future technology, develop at least five new vocational resources that reach the emerging generation.

 

Objective 2:

In 2007, develop a comprehensive plan for vocational discernment for youth and young adults.

 

Objective 3:

By 2012, increase by 25% the number of candidates for ordained ministry who are under age 35.

 

Objective 4:

By 2012, increase by 10% the number of United Methodist students at United Methodist colleges, universities and theological schools.

 

Objective 5:

By 2012, obtain, review, analyze, and distribute existing comprehensive studies of the spirituality of youth and young adults.

 

Objective 6:

By 2008, develop and implement new programs to identify, educate, and motivate young persons for leadership in the church and the world.
