  • A compromise restructure plan for The United Methodist Church, adopted earlier this week by the 2012 General Conference, was declared “unconstitutional” May 4.
  • $7 Million Young Clergy Initiative Fund Approved
  • A $7 million young clergy initiative created to encourage young adults in the United States who wish to respond to God's call to ordained ministry was approved Friday, with the funds to come from money previously budgeted for general church agencies.
  • Central Conference Theological Education Funded
  • Lay people with no theological training lead more than 800 churches in Mozambique, and that is one example of the need for the $5 million Central Conference Theological Education Fund, said Bishop Joaquina Nhanala, episcopal leader of Mozambique.
