In 2011, the General Board of Higher Education and Ministry (GBHEM) signed partnership agreements with Yonsei University and its School of Theology in Seoul, Korea, to serve as the Regional Hub for Asia. Projects have been initiated in Korea, Japan, Vietnam, the Philippines, Cambodia, and India. After years of preparation, the Asia-Pacific Association of Methodist Educational Institutions (APAMEI) was created in 2012. The establishment of an Asian Hub and other emerging projects in this region have allowed Methodist-related educational projects in Asia to share work with the global Methodist family.

Additionally in November 2014, the Philippine Association of Methodist Schools, Colleges, Universities and Seminaries (PAMSCUS) formed and elected Dr. Priscilla Vuya, president emeritus of Tarlac State University and GBHEM board member, its first president.
