Most recent update: July 6, 2008 Administrative Positions AdministrativePresident, Louisburg CollegeThe Board of Trustees and the Presidential Search Committee of the oldest church-related, residential, coed, two-year college in the nation invite nominations and applications for the position of president. The new president will assume office in January 2009. Chartered as Franklin Male Academy in 1787, Louisburg College is affiliated with The United Methodist Church and is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. Its 75-acre campus is located in Louisburg, North Carolina, approximately 35 miles north of the capital, Raleigh. The College’s mission is intentionally preparatory as it seeks to “ . . . provide a bridge for students to make a successful transition from high school to senior colleges and universities.” The average enrollment at Louisburg College is more than 700 students, and approximately 90% of its graduates go on to four-year institutions. Total full-time and part-time faculty is 68. The College offers three associate degree programs and provides exceptional academic support services for all students, as well as specialized assistance programs for those with documented learning disabilities. The athletic opportunities available for men and women continue the long tradition of excellence in athletic competition. The new president must be committed to the mission of Louisburg College and be a highly motivated, energetic leader whose objective is to sustain Louisburg as the premier private, residential, two-year college in the Eastern United States. Campus Ministry and College ChaplaincyExecutive Director/Campus Minister The Wesley Foundation serving UCLA is presently accepting applications for the position of Executive Director/Campus Minister. UCLA is a major public research university located on the west side of Los Angeles. This position oversees a growing campus ministry that focuses upon spirituality, nurture, worship, and mission. The Executive Director/Campus Minister works with students in constructing a spiritually engaging program that is inclusive of all students on the campus of UCLA, collaborates with Westwood United Methodist Church in its ministry of hospitality to young people, represents and promotes campus ministry within the California Pacific Annual Conference, works cooperatively within an ecumenical and interfaith on-campus organization called the University Religious Conference, leads the Wesley Foundation in fulfilling its mission, including long term fund-raising for this ministry, board development, and leadership training. The successful candidate shall be an active member of the United Methodist Church and shall possess a Master of Divinity or equivalent graduate degree from an accredited seminary or university. Life experience will be considered. The compensation package includes salary, housing, medical insurance, pension, and a professional expense account. Director of the Center for Spiritual Life and Campus Chaplain The position is a full-time, twelve month appointment reporting to the Vice President for Student Services. The Director of the Center for Spiritual Life plays a critical role, serving as the key facilitator of spiritual and religious engagement and dialogue on campus. The Director will serve the university community as pastor, develop and implement programming to enrich the religious, spiritual and intellectual lives of students and represent the college in its relations with the local religious community. Approximately 10-15% of the director’s time will be serving as Campus Chaplain at Gobin Memorial United Methodist Church. Executive Minister United Protestant Campus Ministries in Cleveland is searching for an Executive Minister. UPCaM is a national award-winning ecumenical campus ministry supported by mainline Protestant denominations, individual congregations, and friends. It serves students at Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland State University, and Cuyahoga Community College. University Interfaith Chaplain Roger Williams University is a private, non-denominational and accredited Unisversity that seeks a University Interfaith Chaplain who will serve the spiritual needs of our students and University Community. The Interfaith Chaplain will provide opportunities for personal religious growth of members of the University Community through worship, counseling, workshops, and programming events. Under the direction of the Associate Dean of Students/Director of the Intercultural Center, the Chaplain will convene affiliated chaplains on a regular basis to coordinate spiritual support, facilitate monthly Interfaith Council meetings, minister special services, and coordinate religious life on campus. The Interfaith Chaplain will be open and affirming to all cultural and social identities and also serve as part of the Intercultural Center staff team. In addition, the Chaplain will act as an objective and independent mediator between various groups when needed, help promote community outreach, and be an advocate for spiritual life resources. This is a 10-month, part-time position open to any religious affiliation. The ideal candidate must demonstrate the ability to respond to the needs of all faiths, including but not limited to Muslim, Protestant, Catholic, and Jewish faiths. Interim University Chaplain
