Universidade Metodista de Piracicaba
Universidade Metodista de Piracicaba
The Methodist University of Piracicaba was found in 1975 in Piracicaba, Brazil. International students will enjoy watching a soccer match or taking in the scenic hills of the surrounding countryside. Just two hours drive from São Paulo, living in Piracicaba allows international students to experience living in a mid-sized city with easy access to a cosmopolitan center.
UNIMEP has a commitment to Methodism. Wesley considered education to be intrinsic part of the Christian mission, and it was this vision that led the U.S. American missionary, Miss Martha Watts, to Brazil where she founded the Colégio Piracicabano (Piracicabano School) in 1881.
UNIMEP has a commitment to Brazil and to Latin America. Brazil is today among the top ten world economies, a multicultural society, seedbed for intellectual and scientific initiatives of international relevance, home of a young and creative population. It also presents social problems that bring constant challenges: the struggle for social justice, the search for economic equality, the need for environmental awareness and the strengthening of democratic values.
